The Pierce will offer affordable housing to those living in Boynton Beach, FL. Named for the protagonist of “The Barefoot Mailman,” the high-rise building will offer 236 apartments.
Of those apartments, 118 are set aside for workforce housing, reserved for those making 60 to 120 percent of the area’s median income, per the South Florida Business Journal. The publication notes that because of the lack of affordable housing in South Florida, demand for these units is high. Boynton Beach’s average median income hovers around $57,000.
In addition to the residential aspect, the Pierce will comprise 16,800 square feet of restaurant, office, and retail space. It will also feature a 600-spot parking garage. The Construction Journal notes that the Pierce is in its “conceptual design, site acquisition phase,” with construction beginning in 2023. Completion on the 2.28-acre site will finish sometime in 2024.
Affiliated Development, which is based out of Fort Lauderdale, was recently selected to manage the project. The Construction Journal’s records note that MSA Architects designed the venture, with conceptual renderings showing an outdoor courtyard and balconies.
Moss Associates—Corporate Office is the general contractor, managing 42 active projects in multiple private sectors. The Pierce’s address is 115 North Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, FL, 33435, in Palm Beach County.
