The Shoppes of Monterra Commons Undergoing Construction in Cooper City, FL

The Shoppes of Monterra Commons is undergoing construction in Cooper City, FL. The Construction Journal reports that the mixed-use venture began construction in December 2021 and will ideally conclude by 2022 or 2023. It will include over 100,000 square feet of new buildings and cost over $10 million to complete.

The low-rise complex will feature a Brightstar Credit Union, Culver’s, Huey Magoo’s, the Learning Experience, First Watch, Crunch Fitness, and Cali Cafe. There is currently empty leasing space for other businesses.

Conceptual renderings from Loopnet.com show that the largest building is the Brightstar Credit Union, which will also double as the organization’s headquarters. That aspect alone will comprise 70,000 square feet.

The 16.61-acre lot will offer more than 700 parking spots. The Shoppes of Monterra Commons is owned by Diversified Realty Development Company, which is based in Deerfield Beach, FL. The firm has five active projects, three of which include the plaza’s Culver’s, Brightstar Credit Union headquarters, and Learning Experience.

Other involves entities on the project include Scott + Cormia Architecture and Interiors, LLC (the architect), Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. (the land planner), and Grycon Construction (the general contractor). All organizations are based in Florida.
