Atex Group Proposes Workforce Housing Development at 2900 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33312

Atex Group has a $34 million mixed-use project in the works. The venture will offer commercial amenities and residential units in a six-story building. The South Florida Business Journal notes that developers acquired the 1.14-acre build site for $750,000 in November 2021. It was previously home to a 7-Eleven.

The workforce housing development will offer 4,600 square feet of storefronts on the bottom floor. Plans also include a parking structure that will offer 226 spaces. Future residents will have the opportunity to choose from one of the 83 residences.

The six-story building will offer residences and commercial venture.

They range from 548 square feet to 946 square feet. Options include 43 studio apartments, 29 one-bedroom units, and 13 two-bedroom units. Amenities (located on the building’s fifth floor) include a gym, business area, and amenity deck.

Right now, the venture’s currently seeking approval. Steven L. Cohen & Associates PA is the architect. Conceptual renderings show a mid-rise white and blue building with floor-to-ceiling windows. Many units feature balconies. The venture requires more than 165,000 square feet of new construction.

The 1.14-acre build site once featured a 7-Eleven.

Other involved entities on the venture include Tonning & Associates Inc. (the landscape architect) and Zephyr Engineering (the civil engineer). Atex Group is both the owner and general contractor.

The proposed community’s address is 2900 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33312, in Broward County.
