Construction is continuing on HostDime Data Center’s new headquarters in Eatonville, Florida. The $25 million project broke ground in early 2021, with Robins & Morton Group operating as the general contractor. Upon completion, the seven-story building requires about 95,000 square feet of new construction.
HomeDime Data, Inc. is a privately-owned data center provider based in Florida. Founded in 2003, the firm grew from one server to over 200 in less than a 20-year period. The new data center will replace an already-existing one in Orange County, which measures about 25,000 square feet.
The new headquarters will host a first-story STEM lab committed to educating students on the history and evolution of the internet. The lab is aimed at elementary school-aged children in the surrounding area. Other amenities include three stories of data space, rental space for clients (where they can store their older data servers), and electric charging stations in the parking lot.
Completion’s expected on the venture in late 2022. The Orlando Sentinel––Orange County Edition noted that before ground broke on the headquarters, it had been in the works for about five years. It also noted that the new building would sit on the premises of the Robert Hungerford Preparatory School, a historically segregated Black high school which closed in 2009.
HostDime Data Inc.’s new headquarters will be located east of Interstate 4 at 1000 Wymore Road, Eatonville, Florida, 32751, in Orange County.
