Tyndall Air Force Base, located in Mexico Beach, Florida, is undergoing a multi-billion-dollar renovation that will transform the base into “the base of the future.” Part of that initiative includes a master-planned community that will eventually offer over 900 homes. The first phase will offer 216 apartments.
The multi-phase project recently started construction in January 2022, with CentreMarc Construction Company, LLC operating as the general contractor. Some sources call the development “Mexico Beach Crossings.”

Amenities include a fitness center and clubhouse.
According to Berkshire Hathaway HomeService, the community will comprise several low-rise buildings and homes ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom apartments. Homes will either come with balconies or patios. Amenities include gated entry, a fitness center, internet cafe, swimming pool, children’s playground, and dog park.
BusinessWire reports that the initial 216 apartments will join a 42-townhome development that’s already taking shape. Upon completion, the community will offer a a mix of apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes. Future plans also call for a pedestrian-friendly commercial village. The goal is to provide housing not only for people who serve or work on the base but also to attract more people to the area.
