Strategic Property Partners (SPP), the developer behind the 56-acre Water Street Tampa mixed-use development on Downtown Tampa’s waterfront, announced move-ins of its first residents to Asher, a 22-story residential tower located at 1050 Water Street, located immediately north of Tampa EDITION and bound by South Nebraska Avenue on the west with East Cumberland Avenue on the north. The recently completed 273-foot-tall building is completely designed by Morris Adjmi Architects with ODP Architecture & Design as the architect of record, and contains a collection of 490 thoughtfully-designed rental residences ranging from studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts. Amenities at Asher include the neighborhood’s largest rooftop pool deck with over 70 lounge chairs, a media lounge and beautifully designed co-working space with private conference rooms. Move-ins and in-person tours are now underway at the building, following a highly successful pre-leasing period.
“Asher represents a new approach to urban living in Tampa, with world-class design, unmatched amenities and a location in the heart of downtown,” said Lee Schaffler, Chief Portfolio Officer for SPP. “We received strong interest in Asher during our pre-leasing phase and are excited to welcome our first residents to the building.”
Asher offers warm, inviting interiors designed by Adjmi’s interior design team, which is inspired by Tampa’s industrial history. The thoughtfully designed homes feature Fisher & Paykel appliances, Caesarstone quartz countertops, subway tile backsplashes and custom-designed vanities. The 22-story building features oversized industrial windows that maximize natural light and a custom art collection with over 40 pieces curated by Adjmi’s team that showcases works by national and international artists.
Asher’s extensive collection of amenities includes Water Street Tampa’s largest rooftop pool deck, complete with cabanas, outdoor kitchens, an indoor-outdoor bar and an entertainment lawn. Asher also boasts a state-of-the-art fitness center with indoor and outdoor spaces, entertainment and media lounges, and a co-working space with private conference rooms. These amenities offer a vibrant, inclusive spirit built around shared social experiences and reflect the building’s name, which is derived from ash trees — symbolizing creative expression, productivity, strength and longevity — and the Hebrew word for happy.
Through a collaboration with SPP, national hospitality operator Method Co. will service the building’s extensive suite of amenities, including a 24-hour concierge. Residents will enjoy a highly curated lifestyle experience designed to foster community. Method Co. is also opening ROOST Tampa, an elevated extended-stay hotel option with move-in ready studio, one- and two-bedroom homes at Asher. ROOST Tampa is expected to open in early summer.
Located along Water Street, the neighborhood’s namesake and main thoroughfare, Asher places residents in the center of a vibrant live-work-play neighborhood with everything they need at their fingertips. Asher will offer dynamic retail on the ground floor — including the first Florida location of
international Asian-inspired restaurant brand, Wagamama — and will open onto the newly redesigned Water Street, which will be lined with a 45-foot-wide sidewalk shaded by an extensive tree canopy and programmed with retail. The development also provides residents with convenient access to the city’s best cultural, dining and entertainment options, including the Tampa Riverwalk, Amalie Arena, the Florida Aquarium and Sparkman Wharf, Water Street Tampa’s popular waterfront dining, office and community gathering destination.
Reflecting the wellness and sustainability-oriented vision for Water Street Tampa — the world’s first WELL Pre-certified Community and LEED Silver certified for Neighborhood Development Plan — Asher is pursuing LEED certification and will feature amenities and programming designed to boost well-being.
