The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that in a post-pandemic world, one thing is certain: vacationers want leisurely, beachfront getaways. That’s where a new Springhill Suites by Marriott in Duval County, Florida, comes in. The five-story hotel will comprise 136 rooms and more than 120 parking spots.
According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the hotel will offer 2,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space. While not confirmed, the new Springhill Suites by Marriott will likely have a 24-hour market, fitness center, and conference room––like other Springhill Suites hotels.
It will also require more than 138,000 square feet of new construction and rest on nearly an acre of land. Grace Construction Consultants (GCC) is the general contractor. Construction’s expected to end on the $45 million venture by January 2023.
Key International owns the project, and Lindsay Pope Brayfield Architects L | P | B is the architect. Connelly & Wicker Inc. is the civil engineer. U.S. Daily World & News Report notes that there are over 500 Springhill Suites in North America.
The new Springhill Suites by Marriott’s address is 412 and 422 North First Street, Jacksonville, Florida, in Duval County. Renderings show that before construction began, the build site was unoccupied. The hotel is within walking distance of the Jacksonville Beach Pier.
