Two Health Wellness Village Locations Coming to Southeast Florida

Construction’s expected to break ground on Health First Wellness Village––Melbourne, a venture estimated to cost more than $100 million to complete. Sitting on a 22-acre lot, the development calls for 10 buildings.

Amenities will include diagnostic and imaging scan resources, retail space (including a fitness center and dining area), and more. Health First Inc. is the owner, and Whiting-Turner––Orlando is the general contractor. Construction will start in 2023 and wrap up by 2024.

A similar venture is taking place on Merritt Island. It’s another healthcare facility under the Health First Wellness Village banner. That development will replace Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach. First Wellness Village—Merritt Island will comprise 300,000 square feet of new construction on a 14-acre lot.

It will offer 120 beds, six operating suites, and 30 emergency department bays. Construction’s expected to start in 2023 and end in 2025.  It will share many of the same services offered at Health First Wellness Village––Melbourne.

Both facilities have shared conceptual renderings online. These renderings show a pedestrian-friendly village where one can easily walk between buildings and get various services. The main hospitals appear to measure more than 10 stories, while other buildings generally range from one to three stories.

Health First Wellness Village––Melbourne’s address is 611 East Sheridan Road, Melbourne, Florida 32901, in Brevard County. The other venture will likely be located on the former site of Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach.
