Rahn Bahia Mar to Undergo Redevelopment at 801 Seabreeze Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Rahn Bahia Mar, a popular hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is about to undergo a massive redevelopment. The hotel, which was once owned by the city, was recently transferred to a private entity.

The venture will cost $1 billion to complete.

Per the Real Deal, plans require developing 350 condos and 88,000 square feet of commercial space. Homes will likely go for $2,000 per square foot––slightly below market rate. At this time, most condos in the area go for around $2,500 per square foot. Additionally, plans require building a second hotel under the DoubleTree banner.

That venture will offer 256 hotel rooms and 60 condos. Sources report that construction could start on the venture in 2024. Before site work can start, the general contractor must demolish an already-existing structure that’s close to 50 years old. From there, the venture could take anywhere from three to five years to finish.

The development could cost about $1 billion to complete. Kobi Karp Architect & Interior Design is the architect. Tate Capital is the developer, and EDSA is the civil engineer. The redevelopment will take place on a 30-plus-acre lot at 801 Seabreeze Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 33316, in Broward County.
