As it stands, the Floridian Express Hotel is a two-star hotel located on International Drive in Orlando, Florida. Now, developers hope to convert the 1970s-era hotel into a community solely comprising studio apartments.
Right now, the hotel presently has 218 rooms. Upon completion, the community would offer 223 studios on a 3.62-acre lot. The Orlando Business Journal notes that owners have dubbed the venture “Oslo at I Drive,” noting that it could cost more than $5 million to complete.

The venture’s located near many of Orlando’s attractions.
Per the City of Orlando, the project will offer two buildings, a common area building in the middle, a swimming pool, a mail kiosk, a fitness center, and a parking lot. It reports that developers have a tentative hearing scheduled for December 20th of this year.
Sources report that Oslo at I Drive is presently in its schematic drawings phase. If approved, construction could start in May 2023. Mountain Classic Real Estate Inc. is the owner. JZW Architects is the architect.

The venture could replace this hotel.
The Orlando Business Journal reports that conceptual renderings show that the Utah-based firm has put a lot of work into redesigning the venture’s main façade. Oslo at I Drive’s address is 6323 International Drive, Orlando, Florida, 32819, in Orange County. At the time of publication, the Floridian Express Hotel was still accepting reservations.
