Alexan 1700 Secures Approval for 1700 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33712

Trammel Crow Residential recently got approval for a seven-story mixed-use project in St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s called “Alexan 1700.” The complex would offer 267 residential units, per St. Pete Rising.

Homes would comprise studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layout plans. In addition to the residences, the community would offer 18,000 square feet of commercial space, along with a 475-spot parking lot.

It’s unclear what that commercial space would comprise, but it’ll likely be shops and restaurants. Communal amenities include a swimming pool, among other things. The build site would measure just over two acres, with the project itself costing more than $100 million to build.

At the time of publication, Alexan 1700 was in its design phase. Construction could start this spring, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed. Before general contractors break ground, they’ll have to demolish some buildings already on the build site.

Per Google Earth, these businesses include Lolita’s Wine Market, Dirty Laundry, Avid Brew Company, and other ventures. Dwell Design Studio is the architect. As noted, Trammel Crow Residential is the developer, and Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer.

Alexan 1700’s address is 1700 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33712, in Pinellas County. The community is located east of Florida 275 and north of the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. It’s also within walking distance of Tropicana Field.
