Cathedral Commons to Comprise 175 Apartments in Jacksonville, FL

Construction’s expected to start on Cathedral Commons in August 2023. It’s called Cathedral Commons because it’s located in Jacksonville’s Downtown Cathedral District.

The Jacksonville Daily Record notes that the community will comprise 175 apartments spread across 18 three-story buildings. Each home comes with a patio or balcony. The complex will rest on a build site measuring 2.08 acres.

The build site straddles a main road.

Studio9 Architecture LLC is the architect. JWB Companies is the developer. The Jacksonville-based firm asked Studio9 Architecture LLC to design the 18 buildings in five architectural styles. It also has more than 2,000 units in its pipeline right now.

Other involved parties in the venture include Kimley-Horn (the civil engineer) and the Opus Group (the construction manager). Sources note that the project could cost $66 million to complete. Right now, Cathedral Commons is on hold.

In September 2022, JWB Companies requested some modifications from the City of Jacksonville. These changes were intended to “allow for a more urban development,” per the Jacksonville Business Journal. Developers hope that the community will offer accessible housing options to those in the area.

Cathedral Commons’ is located at the intersection of East Duval Street and North Washington Street in Jacksonville, Florida. The complex is directly south of the Arlington Expressway.

You began the fort Pierce project and it’s not finished. Many families were hoping for a call back.
