Renderings have surfaced for a 35-story mixed-use building planned for a 34,000-square-foot site at 505 East Tyler Street and 914 North Morgan Street in the North Downtown submarket of Downtown Tampa. Designed by Arquitectonica and developed by Cantor Silverstein Opportunity Zone Trust, Inc., a Qualified Opportunity Fund and joint venture partnership between New York-based developer Silverstein Properties and financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald L.P., the approximate 363-foot-tall structure will comprise 770,000 square feet of space including 450 residential units with associated leasing office/lounge, 11,500 square feet of amenities, 9,430 square feet of ground floor restaurant/retail space.

First spotted by the Instagram account Tampa Tomorrow, renderings show a generally rectangular tower with rental apartments rising from an L-shaped multistory podium with parking and retail uses. The residential component features vertical and horizontal bands of white and black smooth stucco finishes, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and repetitive stacks of vertically aligned balconies. Podium levels maintain the tower’s aesthetic through a white concrete frame and a mesh screen.

The tower’s massing is slightly relieved by a stepped architectural form on the southern and northern elevation of the roof, which is further defined by the structure’s white concrete frame.

The podium rises 9 stories before setting back and giving rise to the residential tower. Amenities will be on the 10th floor.

Silverstein Properties and Cantor Fitzgerald acquired the 0.78-acre site in May of last year from an affiliate of 1754 Properties, LLC for $19.8 million. The site is bound by East Cass Street to the south, North Morgan Street to the east, North Marion Street to the west, and East Tyler Street to the north.

Groundbreaking is expected to occur relatively soon.

  1. Who is the contractor builder?

  2. Another Arquitectonica monstrosity, making Tampa/St. Pete, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale/WPB all look as boorish as Miami has become in the last ten years with their glorified boxes. SAD!
