Johnson Commons at LaVilla is expected to debut sometime later this summer. According to Breeze Homes, the community will comprise 91 townhomes, starting in the $300,000s. There are two layout plans to choose from. The two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom unit will measure 1,390 square feet. The three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom unit offers 1,461 square feet.
Every unit features a one-car garage, and homes measure three stories above grade. Corner Lot Development Group and JWB Real Estate Johnson Commons LLC broke ground on the multi-family development in October 2022. Our sources report that the venture will cost more than $15 million to complete.
These same sources list Marquis Latimer & Halback, Inc. as the architect and GAI Consultants Inc.––Jacksonville is the landscape architect. Conceptual renderings online show a garden-style development, where amenities could include a community pool. News4JAX reports that Johnson Commons at LaVilla will breathe new life into what was once known as “the Harlem of the South.”
Renderings from Google Earth show that prior to construction, the multi-acre build site was unoccupied, save for what appeared to be a defunct park. Johnson Commons at LaVilla’s address is 1082 W. Adams St., Jacksonville, Florida, 32204, in Duval County. The development is off I-95 and south of Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
