Cigar Lofts at Albany Set for 2111 North Albany, Tampa, Florida

In March 2022, URBN Tampa Bay revealed that Cigar Lofts at Albany was approved for renovations. Built in 1901, the now “dilapidated industrial building and property” was one of many cigar factories that flourished in southwest Florida at the turn of the century. Now, rather than face complete demolition, the low-rise building could find new life as a vibrant residential community.

The venture will offer more than 20 homes in Tampa, Fl.

According to URBN Tampa Bay’s Facebook page, Cigar Lofts at Albany will comprise 21 apartments, along with 10 townhomes south of the property. Our sources report that these townhomes will range from 2,000 square feet to 2,400 square feet. The community itself will feature more than 30,000 square feet of new construction and renovated space.

As of March 21, 2023, developers were in their final planning stages and seeking approval for various permits.  Construction is expected to start in April 2023, with Anderson Engineering operating as the civil engineer and BluScape Homes as the general contractor.

The Tampa Bay Times lists Omar Garcia as the developer. He purchased the build site for $2.8 million in October 2021. Cigar Lofts at Albany’s address is 2111 North Albany, Tampa, Florida, in Hillsborough County. The development is east of Tampa Bay International Airport.
