Meridian Point at Goulds Station to Offer Affordable Housing at 11850 SW 216th St., Miami, Florida, 33170

The Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Meridian Point at Goulds Station, an affordable housing complex in Miami-Dade County.  POAH reports that the new-construction community will comprise 113 residences across two buildings.

The taller seven-story building will offer 80 units, and the smaller three-story garden-style building will host 33 units. Floorplans include one-bedroom to three-bedroom homes, aimed at those making 30 to 80 percent of the area median income. Communal amenities include a fitness center, children’s playground, and open-air community space.

The venture will rest on a 2.7-acre site.

At the time of publication, Data USA reported that the median income for Miami’s Goulds neighborhood hovered around $43,000 in 2020.

The South Florida Business Journal notes that Meridian Point at Goulds Station will rest on a 2.7-acre build site that the developer acquired for nearly $2 million in 2019. The project itself will cost $52.7 million to complete.

Construction could end on the community in 2024.

POAH is the developer, acting through POAH Cutler Manor II LLC, an affiliate. Behar Font & Partners is the architect, and JAXI Builders is the general contractor. Both have offices in South Florida. Meridian Point at Goulds Station will be near Miami’s emerging bus rapid transit system.

The venture’s slated for a 2024 completion at 11850 SW 216th St., Miami, Florida, 33170, in Miami-Dade County.
