Canvas Gas Worx (also known as “Canvas GWX”) is a 79-unit community unfolding in Tampa, Florida. The luxury multifamily complex will reach completion in two phases, with the first phase offering 40 units and the second phrase offering 39.
Canvas City Homes notes that townhomes will comprise three-bedroom units, starting at around 2,100 square feet each. Starting in the $700,000s, homes come with spacious living arrangements, garages, and rooftop terraces. The venture is part of a larger project, Gas Worx.
Per Oceanfront Realty, the $500 million Gas Worx aims to revitalize “the Ybor City lifestyle while paying homage to its deep cultural and artistic roots.” Michael Mincberg, the founder of Sight Development, notes Canvas GWX will offer walkability once the larger Gas Worx project reaches completion.
In 2022, the Tampa Business Journal reported that Canvas GWX is a joint venture between Shepard Capital Partners and Sight Development. Our sources suggest that Curtis Gaines Hall Jones is the architect.
Conceptual renderings pay homage to Tampa’s industrial history, including the warehouses and factories that were remodeled into studios, lofts, and maker’s spaces. Canvas GWX’s address is 1218 East Kay Street, Tampa, Florida, 33602, in Hillsborough County. The venture’s off Florida 275.
