115-Key Hotel “The Element by Westin” Proposed for Dania Beach, FL

FLL Airport Lodging LLC, an affiliate of Baywood Hotels, is seeking approval for a hotel in Dania Beach. If the City Commission approves the venture at the December 12 hearing, it will be the second Element hotel in Broward County (the second one is located in Fort Lauderdale).

FLL Airport Lodging LLC has proposed a six-story hotel that will require just over 79,000 square feet of new construction. The project will offer 115 rooms. The South Florida Business Journal notes that rooms would span 322 square feet to 428 square feet each.

The venture would occupy land formerly owned by the Fishing Hall of Fame.

If the indoor amenities are anything like the Element hotel in Fort Lauderdale, they will come outfitted with televisions, wireless internet, mini-fridges, and microwaves. Communal amenities include a second-floor dining room, fitness center, and lounge.

The Element by Westin would rest on a 1.24-acre build site that the developer purchased for $3.3 million in October 2023. The International Game Fish Association was the seller, and it sold some of its Bass Pro Shops campus.

As noted, FLL Airport Lodging LLC is the developer. Anderson Architecture is the architect, and Attorney Dennis D. Mele is representing the developer’s application. Our sources indicate that the Element of Westin will be located at the southeast corner of Gulfstream Way and Griffin Road and west of Interstate 95.
