Kohl’s once dominated the department store landscape before the advent of online shopping. Now, the chain is closing dozens of stores––including its location at the Miami International Mall in Doral.
The store’s website notes that the store will officially close on January 13. Our sources indicate that Elev8 Fun would occupy the 110,000-square-foot, one-story building. The fourth location would feature go-karting, laser tag, mini-golf, food and beverage service, and 12 full-size bowling lanes.
The project could open in early 2025, and Simon Property Group (the store’s owner) is on board with the renovation. David T. Goldfarb, the owner of Elev8 Fun and co-owner of Fort Lauderdale’s Xtreme Action Park, told the South Florida Business Journal that he also hopes to get approval for a 120-key luxury hotel in the amusement center’s parking lot.
Elev8 Fun isn’t the only amusement venture unfolding in the Sunshine State right now. Universal’s Epic Universe is planned for a 2025 release. The vast addition to Islands of Adventure is being called the most “technologically advanced park,” offering a dual-track roller coaster and other attractions on a 750-acre property.
Elev8 Fun’s fourth location will unfold 1275 N.W. 107th Avenue, Miami, FL, 33172, in Miami-Dade County.
