Karu, an 8,380-square-foot nightclub in Miami, could be replaced with a high-rise complex. The 1000 Marina Mile Apartments would rise 15 stories above grade, offering 283 units and requiring more than 515,000 square feet of new construction.
Per the South Florida Business Journal, residences would include 165 one-bedroom units and 107 two-bedroom units. There would also be 11 townhomes. Homes would span 680 to 2,134 square feet each.
The venture would offer more than 200 homes and retail space.
Forty-one units would be reserved for residents making up to 120 percent of the area median income. Communal amenities at the 1000 Marina Mile Apartments would be located on the seventh floor, offering a fitness center, swimming pool, dining lounge, children’s playground, and more.
The ground floor would also offer some amenities, such as a pickleball court and decorative fountain. The residential offerings are just one aspect of the 1000 Marina Mile Apartments, however. The project also calls for close to 1,500 square feet of commercial space and 503 parking spots.
The venture would replace this nightclub.
Coral Gables-based Realization Architects designed the complex. 1000 Marina Mile Development purchased the 1.87-acre build site for $3.85 million in 2022. The entity is an affiliate of Prive Group, the developer.
