The Tampa Housing Authority, the Related Group, and various community partners are working on a project known as “Canopy Phase Two.”
The $63 million project will offer two towers, one measuring five stories and the other measuring three. The taller building will comprise 158 units, offering one-bedroom to three-bedroom residences. The smaller tower will offer 30 larger units, with the largest units being four-bedroom layouts.
The affordable housing complex extends residency to people making 22 percent to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). According to the City of Tampa, a one-person housing making 30 percent of the AMI would earn $18,250 a year.
Communal amenities at Canopy Phase Two include a swimming pool, fitness center, and tech lab, along with various on-site educational programs. Construction started in February 2024, and it’s expected to end in November 2025.
As the name suggests, Canopy Phase Two is the second phase of a large residential project. Per the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Canopy Phase One is also undergoing construction, and it will offer 196 affordable housing units by the end of this year.
Canopy Phase Two will be located at 1103 W. Main Street, Tampa, FL, 33607, in Hillsborough County.

Hello, Tampa is NOT in Pinellas County. And 5 floors isn’t a ‘tower’.
