Fort Lauderdale-based BTI Partners has reached a significant milestone with the topping-off of The Bread Building, a 25-story apartment tower at 1740 South Young Circle in downtown Hollywood. The redevelopment of the former Hollywood Bread Building site will bring 362 luxury apartments and 16,000 square feet of retail space to the city’s vibrant heart. Modis Architects is the design architect, Adache Group Architects is the architect of record, and Bliss & Nyitray is the structural engineer Witkin Hults + Partners is the landscape architect, KEITH is the civil engineer, and JALRW Engineering Group is the MEP engineer Civic Construction is the general contractor.
“This development revitalizes a previously overlooked site, increasing walkability and vibrancy at the street level, and seamlessly integrating with the ArtsPark,” stated Noah Breakstone, CEO of BTI Partners. “The future residents of The Bread Building will find themselves in an environment rich with amenities, within walking distance of beaches and significant employment centers. Our collaboration with the City of Hollywood has been instrumental in realizing this project, demonstrating the powerful outcomes possible through public-private partnerships.”
The Bread Building represents just one facet of BTI Partners’ efforts to revitalize downtown Hollywood on Young Circle. Beyond this project, the developer is moving forward with plans to replace a strip mall adjacent to the Bread Building with two contemporary towers on the east side of the Circle. Dubbed B57 North and South, these towers will feature a mix of residences, retail, dining, and office, further elevating the urban experience in the area.
Once both projects are completed, BTI Partners will bring over 1,000 new residences to downtown Hollywood, helping to address the heightened housing demand in the area. Hollywood has experienced a 10.6% population surge since 2010. Additionally, the projects combined will provide nearly 200,000 square feet of commercial space, catering to the everyday needs of this rapidly growing city.
Hollywood is on Florida’s east coast and boasts a prime location between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. It is home to Port Everglades, a central hub for both passenger and cargo operations globally, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, which, in 2022, ranked as the 17th busiest airport in the United States for overall passenger traffic, ranked 20th for domestic travel volume and 11th for international traffic. In addition to being located near major employment centers, the Bread Building is about 2 miles from the beach and the Hollywood Broadwalk to the east and a short drive to some of Florida’s best golf courses.
