Developers Witkoff and Monroe Capital have entrusted Auberge Resorts Collection with the management of The Shore Club Resort & Residences in Miami Beach, Florida. Planned for a 2027 opening, the project is poised to rejuvenate and upgrade this distinguished site into a multifaceted destination, blending hotel accommodations with premium residential offerings.

Architecturally significant and historically rich, The Shore Club, located at 1901 Collins Avenue, has been a fixture of Miami Beach’s landscape since its design in 1949 by Albert Anis. In its new phase under the Auberge Resorts Collection, the site will not only retain the original Shore Club and The Cromwell Hotel, an Art Deco gem from 1939, but will also introduce a modern 18-story residential tower and an independent villa, conceptualized by Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), in their inaugural oceanfront endeavor.

“We are excited to expand our urban footprint with the addition of Shore Club in Miami Beach, a place where nature, art, culture and entertainment come together in uniquely compelling ways,” said Dan Friedkin, chairman, Auberge Resorts Collection. “Our proven skill in elevating historic properties through exceptional service and experiences together with Witkoff’s vision and Robert Stern’s exquisite design will transform this legendary address into a dynamic new destination that embodies the unique spirit of Miami Beach. We can’t wait to bring this vision to life.”

In collaboration with the esteemed London-based Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and Miami’s own Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design, RAMSA, alongside the Auberge Resorts Collection, is committed to preserving The Shore Club’s historical essence and charm. This approach honors the site’s rich legacy while ushering it into a prominent role in South Beach’s new chapter. The project will feature 73 rooms and suites, including a sumptuous penthouse, designed to provide the quintessential Miami Beach experience complete with direct access to the beach, exceptional amenities amidst landscaped gardens, and the distinctive, attentive service Auberge Resorts Collection is celebrated for globally.

The new residential tower, ascending 200 feet and framing the Atlantic Ocean, interprets Miami Beach’s renowned MiMo architecture through RAMSA’s visionary lens. The design incorporates oceanic curves and layered terraces to create expansive views and living spaces seamlessly merging indoor and outdoor environments. This modern interpretation respects the locale’s Art Deco roots while introducing innovative living concepts. The Cromwell Hotel is set to be transformed into a private access point for 49 unique residences, each featuring individual floor plans and expansive windows that capture the dramatic seascape.

A singular, 8,000-square-foot beach house, another RAMSA design, represents a unique offering within Miami Beach. It provides a private oasis with its entrance, swimming pool, and direct ocean views, tailored for exclusive family use.

At The Shore Club Resort & Private Residences, residents and guests will find a blend of serene beachfront living and the vibrancy of urban life. Integrating historic structures with new developments creates a harmonious environment, distinguishing private resident amenities from those available to all guests. Amenities include a private fitness center, library, lounge, and a residents-only pool, along with access to the hotel’s broader offerings like the signature restaurant, a dynamic café and bar, an Auberge spa and fitness center, and the Beach Club, ensuring a comprehensive and luxurious living experience.

This collaboration is complementary in every way, and we very much look forward to working with them to reinstate this iconic property on the Miami Beach skyline.”

Craig Reid, CEO of Auberge Resorts Collection, also remarked: “We are delighted to partner with Witkoff and Monroe Capital as we continue to expand Auberge’s presence in global urban destinations. The Shore Club will be a standout destination highlighting Miami Beach as one of the finest locations in which to relax, play, and live.”
