Sports & Social, a new two-level sports bar, is scheduled to open this fall at Pointe Orlando as part of the expansive 73,000-square-foot Live! At Pointe Orlando complex. Spanning 12,930 square feet, the venue will offer approximately 200 seats, although this figure may change as construction progresses. The renovation of the space, formerly occupied by B.B. King’s Blues Club, is being handled by Good News Construction following its closure during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Sports & Social brand, now opening its 17th location, falls under the portfolio of Maryland-based developer The Cordish Companies, known for its high-traffic Live! brands that draw 55 million visitors annually. According to Executive Vice President Matt Ryan of Brixmor Property Group, the owner of Pointe Orlando, Live! At Pointe Orlando will enhance the plaza’s diversity with themed venues. Alongside Sports & Social, new additions include PBR Cowboy Bar, Houndsmen English Lounge, and Shark Bar.

The venue will hire about 75 front- and back-of-house staffers, contributing to approximately 300 new jobs across the four upcoming Pointe Orlando venues. Recruitment for Sports & Social has already commenced, beginning with the search for a general manager.

Designed by California-based Pivot Interiors, the Orlando location joins a series of Sports & Social venues crafted by notable design firms such as ICRAVE, Rockwell Group, Jeffrey Beers International, and Knauer Inc. The menu, created by James Beard Award nominee Chef John Suley, will feature a traditional brunch menu, lunch and dinner options including shareables, salads, tacos, and sandwiches, along with an extensive bar menu offering a variety of fruity cocktails.

Central to the venue will be a massive LED display showcasing multiple sporting events simultaneously. The site will also feature nightly live music, games like skeeball and foosball, and indoor and outdoor seating, aiming to breathe new life into an entertainment center that has recently undergone significant upgrades. Additional new venues at Pointe Orlando include the remodeled and rebranded Funny Bone Comedy Club & Restaurant and the soon-to-open Dallas-based Dick’s Last Resort.
