Babcock Ranch is a “new town” development taking shape in Southwest Florida. At full buildout, the venture will span 18,000 acres and yield more than 19,500 homes. Now, Florida YIMBY has learned of an exciting development regarding this massive venture.
Construction is currently ongoing on the Shoppes at Yellow Pines, a shopping center measuring 120,000 square feet. According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ), construction is 60 percent completed, with the general contractor currently working on the exterior finishes. Sources indicate that the box and outparcel retail spaces range from 1,300 to 23,000 square feet.

There are many big-name tenants ready to set up shop at the new complex. Some restaurants include Five Guys, Jersey Mike’s, and Carvel ice cream. Other retailers include Marshall’s, Five Below, and Ace Hardware. Per the Babcock Ranch Telegraph, plans also call for a 6,500-square-foot walk-in clinic.
Kitson & Partners, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, is Babcock Ranch’s master developer. It had a big focus on drawing medical tenants to the Shoppes at Yellow Pines before the start of construction. Kitson told the TBBJ that the venture has “maximum protection from major Florida weather events” because it’s 30 miles inland and 30 feet above sea level.
