Avion Apartments is continuing construction in Jacksonville, FL.
The workforce housing complex will feature 320 homes divided amongst eight four-story buildings. The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that layout plans will span one-bedroom to three-bedroom designs. Square footage measures 707 to 1,248 square feet each. In-unit amenities will include granite countertops, walk-in closets, and glass-encased showers.
Avion Apartments’ website shares that communal amenities include a “pro-level fitness center”, swimming pool, dog park, and other offerings. Thirty percent of the units (96) will be reserved for tenants earning up to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI). The rest will be at-market-rate apartments.
Sources reported that the development would reach completion by the fourth quarter of 2025, although it could open sooner. Locally based Corner Lot is the developer. This was the same developer behind Johnson Commons, a 91-unit townhome development that Florida YIMBY first reported on in 2021. The Jacksonville Daily Record reports that the first tenants arrived earlier this spring.
Summit Contracting Group Inc. is the general contractor. Group 4 Design is the architect. Avion Apartments is expected to cost $75 million to complete. It’s currently unfolding at 12525 Tibbets Lane, Jacksonville, FL, 32218, in Duval County.
