Fort Lauderdale is set to welcome The Fort, the world’s first dedicated pickleball stadium and entertainment complex, nearing completion at 891 Southwest 34th Street in Snyder Park. Spanning 10 acres, this innovative facility blends sports and leisure, featuring state-of-the-art amenities designed to elevate the pickleball experience in South Florida.
Supported by a $7 million construction loan from Centennial Bank, The Fort boasts 43 pickleball courts equipped with Playsight technology, enabling live-streamed matches, instant replays, and coaching tools. The complex is designed to cater to recreational players and social visitors, combining the vibrant energy of a day club with the upscale atmosphere of a modern country club. As the official headquarters and training facility for the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP), The Fort is poised to become a major hub for professional and amateur players.
“I’m thrilled to be part of a project that fulfills a growing community need, uniting people across generations and levels of play,” said Camila Giraldo, loan officer at Centennial Bank who facilitated the transaction.
Strategically positioned near Fort Lauderdale and Miami’s ports, The Fort is expected to draw local players, international tourists, and spectators. Membership packages and day passes will offer accessible options for players at all levels, reinforcing its appeal as both a sports destination and an entertainment venue.
The project also reflects the success of a private-public partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale, which has enabled the development of a facility that benefits residents, visitors, and the local economy. As a transformative addition to South Florida’s recreational landscape, The Fort underscores Centennial Bank’s commitment to community growth. The bank’s long-standing relationship with developer Jeffrey Roschman, which began after it acquired Landmark Bank in 2016, exemplifies its dedication to supporting impactful developments.

This land was donated to the city with the stipulation Thai it not be developed. The city leaders not only ignored this and the will of the people not to do it but they also have a sweetheart deal to developers. Now public land will be used by a for profit group, limit access and the city and citizens get pennies on the dollar value.
This project should never have happened in this location. The park was left to the city by Byron Snyder with the condition that it would never be used for commercial purposes. Mayor Trantallis and his cronies sold us out and have destroyed our beautiful park with underhanded moves. A travesty.
Really disgusting!! We share this beautiful planet with animals. Greed and power. Try to remember you can never replace nature once it is demolised..Shame on everyone who supported this
absolutely disgusting, last thing we needed was more concrete. Hopefully we will boycott and will be abandoned to be reclaimed by nature.
Our beautiful peaceful nature area in Fort Lauderdale has been taken away from us. My family has enjoyed this park for over 45 years. No it has been destroyed.
I will not be opening a Christmas Club account at Centennial Bank, which facilitated the transaction. Glad the loan officer is ‘thrilled’ and could care less about what the property was supposed to be used for.
