Dubai-based DAMAC International has started site work on a 12-story high-rise tower on the former site of the collapsed Champlain Towers South in Surfside.

The Delmore will comprise 37 ultra-luxury residences, with the condos averaging 7,000 square feet and the penthouses starting at 10,000 square feet. The Real Deal reports that layout plans include four-bedroom to five-bedroom models, with each floor hosting no more than four units each. The publication reports that condos will start at $15 million, making them among the most expensive residences in the county.

The Delmore will include more than 55,000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor amenities, including a fitness center, steam room, jacuzzi, and 20,000-square-foot meditation garden. An intriguing feature is a 75-foot-long swimming pool suspended 125 feet in the air. Zaha Hadid Architects designed the venture. Hirsch Bedner Associates, headquartered in Santa Monica, California, is the interior designer.

Developer DAMAC International acquired the 1.8-acre build site for $120 million at a court-ordered auction a year after the infamous collapse claimed the lives of 96 people. The Delmore will be the firm’s first ground-up project to take shape on U.S. soil. The project’s address is 8777 Collins Ave., Surfside, FL, 33154, in Miami-Dade County.

  1. WHILE THE DESIGN IS ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSIVE, ONE OF THE BEST IN A LONG TIME …
THE PRICE, AND THE NUMBER OF TOTAL ‘UNITS’ … REMINDS ONE, THAT BEING WEALTHY
IS ALWAYS … A DIRECT CONNECTION TO LIFESTYLE.
