Construction is now several stories above ground on Excel Miami, a 24-story residential tower located at 1550 NE Miami Place in Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District. Designed by Arquitectonica, with LEO A DALY serving as the architect-of-record and developed by Clearline Real Estate with Shawmut Design and Construction as the general contractor, the 275-foot-tall structure is expected to yield an estimated 335,264 square feet of space, including 262,747 square feet of residential space spread across 427 rental apartments and a parking podium spanning four stories topped with amenities.

Recent drone photos captured ongoing construction at the 0.86-acre site, bounded by NE Miami Place to the east, NE 16th Street to the north, NE Miami Court to the west, and Miami Plaza Tower to the south. At the time the photos were taken, work on the reinforced concrete superstructure had reached the 7th floor, with a single yellow tower crane positioned above the ascending formwork.

Rental units will range from studios to two-bedroom apartments, along with 13 townhouse lofts. Sizes will span from 400 to 1,000 square feet. Amenities will include a swimming pool, yoga deck, fitness center, coworking spaces, a film room, and podcast suites. Located near the Metromover School Board Station, the project emphasizes transit accessibility and walkability.

The tower will eventually feature a uniform vertical massing defined by a grid of white stucco lines that form a series of rectangular frames across the façade. Within each frame, dark gray stucco panels serve as the primary cladding, punctuated by evenly spaced fenestration arranged in a consistent vertical rhythm.
