McDowell Housing Partners is one step closer to completing Ekos on Evans, an affordable, multifamily housing development in Fort Myers. The venture will comprise five three-story buildings, offering 144 homes.
According to Lee County, of those 144 units, 72 will be one-bedroom units, 48 two-bedroom units, and 24 three-bedroom units. They will span 644 to 1,161 square feet, with interior finishings including quartz countertops, energy-efficient appliances, and water-saving plumbing.

There will also be a standalone clubhouse and a host of other on-site amenities, including a dog park, children’s playground, swimming pool, and grilling stations. Ekos on Evans will offer housing to tenants earning 30, 60, and 70 percent of the area median income, per Yield PRO. County records report that the median household income for Lee County is $88,800.
McDowell Housing Partners has another project in its southwest Florida pipeline: Ekos Creekside. The seven-story residential building will feature 160 affordable housing units. Both Ekos Creekside and Ekos on Evans will cost a combined $75 million to complete.
Ekos on Evans will occupy a 9.3-acre lot that, according to LoopNet, is zoned for professional office/multifamily. Its address will be 3501 Evans Avenue, Fort Myers, Florida, 33901, in Lee County.
