Miami-based developer Pinnacle Housing has filed plans for the second phase of its affordable housing community in the region. The project comes on the heels of its predecessor, Tropical Pointe, a 215-unit development next door.
Tropical Crossings will measure eight stories above grade, offering 110 studios and one-bedroom homes. The units would span about 500 to 680 square feet, and they would be reserved for seniors. At the time of publication, our sources did not share specifics about age and income restrictions.

Yet, the Real Deal notes that communities of this nature are generally reserved for tenants 55 and older, earning no more than 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). Under these parameters, this means that a one-person household could earn no more than $63,500 a year to qualify, per Miami-Dade County records.
Aside from the homes, Tropical Crossings would feature more than 70,000 square feet of leasable space, 1,000 square feet of retail, and a ground-floor fitness center. There would also be 60 surface parking spots. Anillo Toledo Lopez Architecture designed Tropical Crossings.
If approved, the mid-rise venture would occupy the .96-acre site at the southeast corner of South Dixie Highway and Southwest 250th Street, Princeton, FL, 33032, in Miami-Dade County.
