Construction has officially started on Ambar Station, a multi-family housing development Florida YIMBY first reported on in October 2023.
The affordable housing venture will feature four buildings: two measuring eight stories (86 to 88 feet high) and the other two measuring three stories (36 feet tall). The community will offer a total of 576 units. The venture will offer an array of one-bedroom to three-bedroom homes, along with 8,300 square feet of commercial space. This will all take shape on a 7.8-acre site.

Residents will have access to 852 parking spots, 158 of which will serve as electric vehicle charging stations. Anillo Toledo Lopez Architecture designed the project. Renderings from the Miami-based firm show a stucco and concrete façade, along with upper-floor homes with balconies.
The Vestcor Companies is the developer. The Jacksonville-based firm recently secured $128 million in funds from the Miami-Dade County Housing Finance Authority. First Florida Constructors and L&R Structural Corp are handling the construction aspect. DAR Finish Specialties, Inc., subcontracted for various aspects of the interior work, estimates the project’s completion next year in 2026.
Ambar Station is currently unfolding at 27742 and 27860 S. Dixie Highway, Homestead, Florida, 33032, in Miami-Dade County.
