A recent filing with the Federal Aviation Administration reveals plans for tower crane installations at the One Twenty Brickell Residences construction site. The cranes will be located at 120 SW 8th Street in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood, a short walk from Brickell City Centre.

Developed by Property Markets Group, the project will comprise two towers with a combined 803 residential units. A 34-story condominium tower will house 266 residences, each paired with a private office suite accessed via dedicated elevators. Residents will have access to more than 60,000 square feet of amenities, including a sky bar, spa, plunge pools, conference rooms, office and fitness facilities, and pool decks.

The second tower, rising from a shared podium, will contain 537 multifamily units operated by the Sentral management platform. The podium will also accommodate over 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a parking structure with capacity for 606 vehicles. Together, the towers will add new residential density and lifestyle offerings along SW 8th Street, enhancing walkability within the urban core.

Sieger Suarez Architects is the project’s designer, and Juneau Construction Company is serving as general contractor. The site is strategically located near Brickell’s MetroMover and Metrorail stations, providing residents with direct access to Coral Gables, Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, and the Brightline high-speed rail.

The temporary cranes are approved to reach 652 feet above ground, or 657 feet above sea level, with installation expected to begin on December 1, 2025.

In April 2025, PMG secured $413 million in construction financing and held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 30. Completion is anticipated in 2028.

  1. What a town!

  2. Entirely appropriate; the FAA must approve the height of the construction relative to aerial activities current or planned for the location. The Tower Cranes are used for construction and must be taller than the permanent structure to be able to service the project. Their height then is a critical measure of consideration for FAA approval.
