The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the height of a high-rise residential tower planned for Miami’s evolving Magic City Innovation District.

SIXTY Uptown Magic City is set to measure 309 feet above sea level, rising 25 stories above grade. It will comprise 349 luxury apartments. Future residents will have access to “a host of world class amenities,” along with 13,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 393 parking spots. Homes will boast views of the Miami Skyline, Miami Beach, and other surrounding waterways.

MCID Parcel 11 is the developer. The firm has just a few more hurdles to overcome before officially breaking ground. Miami’s Urban Development Review Board approved the project in 2021. Internationally renowned Arquitectonica is the architect.

SIXTY Uptown Magic City is just one aspect of the larger Magic City Innovation District. Other features of the multi-billion-dollar development include a commuter train station and a 2.2-acre campus-inspired promenade.

Additional highlights include the 12-story Motorsport Network Headquarters (set to feature more than 370,000 square feet of leasable space) and Station M. The latter is a “twin tower innovation center” that will feature a cutting-edge incubator and accelerator ecosystem in addition to more than half a million square feet of retail, commercial, and office space.

SIXTY Uptown Magic City is planned for 6001 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL, 33137, in Miami-Dade County.

  1. I can only hope this is the runt of the litter architecturally… Nothing says “Magic City” like a box covered and a jumbled mess of box outlines, conjoined by a parking garage of the same.

  2. Horrible. What is it? Bad Magic for sure.
