Developer Bear Atlantic Group (BAG) intends to move forward with a multi-family housing development in Miami-Dade County. If approved, the venture, called “Homestead Commons,” would replace an 11,356-square-foot church.
Homestead Commons is set to comprise 426 apartments in eight stories; homes would span one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom townhouses, measuring about 650 to 1,345 square feet.
In addition to the residential aspect, plans call for 4,224 square feet of commercial space, a 10,074-square-foot church, and 626 parking spots. Berenblum Busch Architects designed the mixed-use community.

Miami-based BAG has the 4.25-acre site under contract from its current owner, Ministere Jesus Haitian. The church on the build site was constructed in 1959; the completed project would yield a new church and office space.
Homestead Commons follows a larger trend of churches tapping into their sites’ value to raise money and advance other missions, such as meeting the region’s affordable housing crisis. Florida YIMBY reported on one such project in May 2025; that venture, led by Keystone Midway LLC, would replace La Cathedral Del Pueblo in Miami-Dade County with an 18-story apartment building.
Homestead Commons needs rezoning approvals and other variations before construction can begin. Pending various approvals, it’s slated for 16825 SW 304th St, Homestead, FL, 33030, in Miami-Dade County.
