A vacant site in Pompano Beach could be rezoned to make way for a new affordable housing development.
The Housing Authority of the City of Pompano Beach wants to proceed with Adderly Cove. The venture would comprise 96 homes for tenants earning up to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI). According to Broward County public records, the county’s median income is currently $89,100.
In addition to the residences, plans for Adderly Cove call for various on-site amenities, one of which is a wellness walking path. Further details regarding the project’s specs are limited, as the Housing Authority has yet to submit a comprehensive site plan.

Pompano Beach’s Development Review Committee intends to review plans for Adderly Cove later today. For plans to move forward, the developer wants to rezone the 8.6-acre site from “duplex residential” to “residential planned unit development.”
Adderly Cove isn’t the only affordable housing project poised for Broward County. Last month, Florida YIMBY reported on Aspire 1650, an eight-story affordable housing development. Also located in Pompano Beach, the community would comprise 90 apartments for tenants earning up to 120 percent of the area median income.
Adderly Cove would be located at east side of Northwest 6th Avenue at Northwest 16th Court, Pompano Beach, Florida, 33060, in Broward County.
