A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last week for the $135 million Tim and Jayne Donahue Patient Care Tower, a new five-story hospital expansion recently completed at Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida. The project was constructed by Robins & Morton and adds a significant new inpatient and specialty care component to the hospital’s campus.

Rising five stories and encompassing approximately 133,000 square feet, the new patient care tower adds 92 inpatient beds to Jupiter Medical Center’s existing 248-bed capacity. The building is designed to accommodate oncology, cardiovascular, and orthopedic services, expanding the hospital’s ability to deliver specialized care within a consolidated clinical environment.

The tower also includes a Clinical Simulation Center designed to support hands-on training, skills development, and workflow testing. The facility is intended to enhance team coordination, communication, and the evaluation of new technologies, with an emphasis on patient safety and operational readiness.

“Building a modern patient care tower is about far more than bricks and steel — it’s about creating spaces that elevate care,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Our construction partners brought deep healthcare expertise and a collaborative mindset to this project, helping us deliver advanced specialty floors, a state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Center, and infrastructure designed to support innovation and growth well into the future.”

“From the earliest planning stages through final completion, patient safety and operational readiness were non-negotiable,” said Steve Seeley, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Jupiter Medical Center. “Our construction partners executed this project with precision, meeting the rigorous standards required in a health care environment while delivering a facility designed to support clinical excellence from day one.”

In addition to the patient care tower, the project scope included construction of a $20 million, five-deck parking garage providing 845 parking spaces to support the growing medical campus and increased patient and staff volumes.

“The completion of this new patient tower represents a significant milestone for our community, one that will have a lasting, positive impact for many years to come,” said Johnathan Peavy, Operations Manager at Robins & Morton. “We are grateful to Jupiter Medical Center for the trust placed in our team to build this facility, which will enhance access to healthcare services for patients and families throughout the region.”

  1. I’m sure its a wonderful needed addition and has all of the bells and whistles on the inside, but from the outside aesthetically speaking it’s a hulking mass of boring. Looks like something that would have been built in the 1950s.
