Two developers have secured nearly $77 million in financing for an affordable housing project currently undergoing construction in Hollywood.

Villa Jordana is set to measure more than five stories above grade and comprise 96 units, reserved for low-income seniors aged 62 years and older. Specifically, residency would be available to those earning between 33 to 60 percent of the area median income (AMI).

Under these parameters, rent would be capped at $1,555 a month – well below the average cost of rent in Hollywood. RentCafé reports that the average rent of an apartment in Hollywood is currently $2,198 a month, a 2.53 percent increase from 2025.

Amenities at Villa Jordana will include (but aren’t limited to) a resort-style swimming pool with barbeque stations, along with a fitness center. There will also be on-site services to assist with housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.

Housing Trust Group and AM Affordable Housing are the two developers. The former purchased the project’s 35,030-square-foot property for $3.6 million in 2024. AM Affordable Housing is a Miami-based non-profit founded by former NBA player Alonzo Mourning.

Coral Gables-based Realization Architects designed the community. Ballast Construction is the general contractor and intends to finish Villa Jordana in spring 2026. It’s unfolding at 826 S Dixie Hwy, Hollywood, FL, 33020, in Broward County.

  1. This is such a great addition to Hollywood, especially with the focus on low-income seniors. I was reading about the involvement of Alonzo Mourning’s non-profit and was trying to look up some of the international compliance standards or potential community partnerships they might be bringing over from their other ventures. I stumbled across this site guiadebetnacionalbrasil.com while searching for some of the operational backgrounds—is this related to the gaming or entertainment tax revenue that helps fund these types of affordable housing projects in Florida, or is it something else entirely? I’d love to know more about how the financing for Villa Jordana is structured before the 2027 completion.
