Turner Construction Company has been selected as general contractor for Westcourt Orlando, a $500 million mixed-use development planned directly north of Kia Center at 401 West Church Street in Downtown Orlando. Developed by JMA Ventures and designed by Baker Barrios with McNamara • Salvia serving as structural engineer of record, the arena-adjacent district is planned to span nearly 1 million square feet across an 8.5-acre site bounded by West Church Street, Division Avenue, West Central Boulevard, and South Hughey Avenue.
The development will include an 11-story, 265-key Kimpton-branded hotel incorporated into the same tower volume as the residential component, which will contain 269 high-rise units. Based on the renderings, the combined hotel and residential tower appears to rise approximately 26 to 27 stories, though an official total floor count has not been disclosed. The broader program will also include Class A office space, retail, meeting and conference space, parking, and a live entertainment venue. Current plans call for up to 310,000 square feet of office space, 125,000 square feet of entertainment and dining-focused retail, a 3,500-capacity venue, 1.5 acres of open space, and 1,140 on-site parking spaces.

“JMA Ventures has a clear vision for what Westcourt Orlando can become, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to help bring it to life. A project like this demands coordination across dozens of trades working simultaneously on very different building types — that’s the challenge we’re built for. We’re looking forward to putting a strong Central Florida workforce behind it,” said Jeff Justen, Vice President and General Manager, Turner Construction Company.

Turner said early site activity is underway as the team moves toward full mobilization. At peak, the project could support approximately 800 workers on-site, representing roughly 1,600 direct construction jobs over the life of the development. Turner also said the project will create opportunities for local subcontractors, with many trade partners expected to come from the Central Florida market. Work packages will be structured to encourage broad participation across the hotel, residential, office, retail, entertainment, parking, and public realm components.
Westcourt Orlando received land use entitlements in April 2024, according to JMA Ventures. The project is planned as an extension of Downtown Orlando’s sports and entertainment district, with the site positioned next to Kia Center and near Camping World Stadium, Inter&Co Stadium, and Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
