Construction is nearing completion on The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Naples, a six-acre waterfront condominium development at the corner of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Gulf Shore Drive in Naples. Positioned between the Gulf of Mexico and Vanderbilt Lagoon, the project will yield 128 residences, penthouses, and grand penthouses and is being developed by STOCK Development and its luxury condominium division, STOCK Residences, with design by Curts Gaines Hall Jones Architects (CGHJ). Suffolk Construction is serving as general contractor, J.R. Evans Engineering is the project engineer, Susurrus is leading interior design, Booth Design Group is the landscape architect, and JKM Lighting Design is the lighting designer.
One of the latest milestones at the property is the installation of “Vivacious,” a 30-foot-tall stainless-steel sculpture by Arkansas-based artist Hunter Brown. The artwork was assembled on site just prior to Memorial Day and now stands at the project’s primary entrance at the intersection of Vanderbilt Beach Road and Gulf Shore Drive.

Recent photos show the sculpture arriving on site before mobile cranes lifted, maneuvered, and set the artwork into its permanent position within the entrance plaza. Crews coordinated the placement lg the artwork alongside the development’s water feature and landscaped arrival sequence.

“The title ‘Vivacious’ was inspired by Naples itself,” said Brown. “I wanted to create something that reflected the energy, beauty, and elegance of the community while also encouraging people to engage with the piece and experience it differently depending on where they’re standing. Public art has a unique ability to become part of a place’s identity, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see this work now standing in the environment for which it was created.”

According to the artist, the sculpture was designed specifically for its coastal setting and was influenced by both the surrounding waterfront environment and the architecture of The Ritz-Carlton Residences. Brown personally oversaw the installation following the artwork’s transport from his studio in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The unveiling comes as The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Naples enters its final stages of construction and remains on track to open this fall. Recent photos indicate that exterior work is largely complete as crews focus on final site improvements and closeout activities. The development recently sold out its entire collection of 11th-floor penthouses and will feature a 22-slip marina, more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenity space, and The Vanderbilt Club, a 28,000-square-foot residents’ facility.
Brown is known for a number of large-scale public art commissions throughout the United States, including “Solidarity,” a 40-foot-tall sculpture located along Interstate 4 in downtown Orlando. With the installation of “Vivacious” now complete, one of the final major exterior additions to The Ritz-Carlton Residences has been put in place as the development advances toward opening.
