Florida YIMBY has an update regarding a multi-million-dollar venture we covered in December 2023.
Catchlight Crossings, a multi-phase mixed-use development, is progressing toward a 2027 completion in Central Florida’s tourism corridor. The much-anticipated project intends to meet the demand for theme park worker housing, specifically around Universal Epic Universe. It’s part of the park’s larger “Housing for Tomorrow” initiative.

Construction started on the two-phase venture in November 2023. Upon completion, Catchlight Crossings will host more than 1,000 workforce and affordable housing units. Residences will come outfitted with hard surface countertops, walk-in closets, and stainless-steel appliances by Kohler. Residents will also have access to more than 72,000 square feet of public and residential amenities.
Additional features include on-site medical offices, 1,664 parking spots, and 16,000 square feet of retail space. In total, the venture will require more than 1.9 million square feet of new construction and occupy 20 acres – four of which will be designated as open green space. Wendover Housing Partners is the developer. Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Partners is the architect.
Catchlight Crossings is unfolding at 100 Starbeam Street, Orlando, Florida, 32827, in Orange County.
