Orlando’s ICON Park is primed for a new attraction with a familiar feel.
St. Louis-based Build-A-Bear Workshop is weeks away from unveiling a three-story flagship location that would offer an experience beyond toy-building and customization. The $11 million venture is slated to feature a dessert shop, clothing personalization station, and all-in-one design studio. There will also be a partially enclosed rooftop terrace.
The Orlando location offers a distinct experience from mall-based locations in that guests must book appointments with consultants. These associates will help with enhanced features of the customization process, such as choosing the toy’s eye color, coat texture, and paw design.

Build-A-Bear announced plans for the Orlando location in March 2025 and started construction a few months later in July. Completion is anticipated for November 2026, although an official grand opening date has not yet been announced.
The low-rise building is estimated to comprise 33,600 square feet. Build-A-Bear previously considered other cities for the project, such as Chicago and Las Vegas, before deciding with Orlando.
Orlando’s ICON Park’s Build-A-Bear Workshop is located at 8431 International Drive, Orlando, FL, 32819, in Orange County. It will replace the Build-A-Bear Workshop location that opened at ICON Park in 2021.
