Metro Station recently got the green light from Miami-Dade officials, the South Florida Business Journal reports. The 0.2-acre build site was rezoned from industrial/retail use to multifamily use just a few days ago.
The residential venture will comprise 55 units in an eight-story building. This is MG Developers’ third apartment complex in the area, with the other projects being Metro Parc and March Parc North. They will have 559 units and 620 units, respectively.
The Real Deal reports that MG Developers purchased the 12,000-square-foot build site for $1.6 million in 2022. Google Earth’s renderings show that prior to the start of construction, the general contractor must demolish a gas station and convenience store.
Metro Station intends to offer “high-quality rental opportunities” while also offering easy access to Miami’s public transportation system. The new development will offer convenient access to the Metrorail and Tri-Rail systems.
As noted, MG Developers is the developer. It’s also partnered with FC&E, a development firm based in Coral Gables. It’s unclear whether Metro Station will offer at-market rate homes or affordable housing units.
Metro Station will soon take shape at 2691 East 11th Avenue, Hialeah, Florida, 33013, in Miami-Dade County. The development will be west of I-95 and slightly northeast of Miami International Airport.
