Yesterday, Florida YIMBY reported on Viking Yacht’s plans for an expansion in Riviera Beach, Florida. However, that’s not the only watercraft-related expansion in the area. Now, Safe Harbor Marinas hopes to broaden its reach in Palm Beach County.
The Dallas-based company filed a rezoning permit for a 21.8-acre site. Per the South Florida Business Journal, the organization purchased the build site in 2018 for $60.5 million.
If approved by city officials, the project would require the construction of a five-story parking garage with close to 500 spots. Additionally, it would feature four other buildings, including a warehouse and an office building. In total, the venture could require more than 80,000 square feet of new construction.
In its application, the developer noted that the expansion would make the city of Riviera Beach “the international focal point as the largest superyacht repair facility in the United States and the beneficiary of the global recognition that will come with that exposure.”
Kimley-Horn is the civil engineer. Song + Associates is the architect. Before the start of construction, the former Rybovich marina will need relocating. Safe Harbor Marinas owns Rybovich, having acquired the entity in 2021.
Safe Harbor Marinas’ expansion would be located at 255 E. 22nd Court, Riviera Beach, Florida, 33404, in Palm Beach County.
