Brand Urban, a Manhattan-based retail real estate brokerage and advisory firm, has announced that maman, the acclaimed French-inspired café and bakery from co-founders Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte, will open a new 2,590-square-foot location at 830 Brickell. This 55-story, 640,000-square-foot Class A+ office tower in Downtown Miami’s Brickell Financial District is a joint venture between developers OKO Group and Cain International.
The new maman location at 830 Brickell, expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2024, will be the brand’s fourth establishment in South Florida. This follows Brand Urban’s earlier announcement in September about maman’s expansion into the Florida market, with the first three locations being Sentral Wynwood, Miami, at 51 NW 26th Street; Coral Gables, Miami, at 136 Miracle Mile; and The Square, West Palm Beach at 477 S. Rosemary Avenue. Further store openings in the region are planned in the coming months.
“We’re thrilled to advise maman on its continued national expansion, and 830 Brickell will undoubtedly be one of the brand’s most exciting and highly anticipated openings to date,” said Taryn Brandes, founder of Brand Urban. “We’re honored to be attached to such an iconic building and look forward to becoming a part of Brickell’s incredible commercial, residential, and retail community.”
Taryn Brandes and Emily Green of Brand Urban, serving as maman’s exclusive national real estate advisors, facilitated the transaction. They partnered with Michael Sullivan of Vertical, a Miami-based boutique real estate company. Daniel Cardenas and Aaron Butler of Avenue Real Estate Partners represented the ownership of 830 Brickell, OKO Group, and Cain International.
“830 Brickell is the perfect destination for our latest endeavor,” said Ben Sormonte of maman. “With its vibrant and bustling atmosphere, extensive outdoor seating and impressive backdrop, it’s an ideal location for maman’s unique blend of French-inspired charm and culinary delights. We’re thrilled to introduce maman to this dynamic area and create memorable experiences for visitors.”
The new maman café and bakery will occupy ground-floor space at 830 Brickell, designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. The location will not only serve the office tenants of the tower, which includes prominent firms like Citadel, Microsoft, Thoma Bravo, and Kirkland & Ellis but also aim to attract workers from neighboring offices and nearby residents. maman Brickell’s large patio is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere in Miami’s financial center, complementing the area’s distinguished retailers and restaurants.
Since its inception in 2019, Brand Urban has played a pivotal role in maman’s growth, expanding from six to 31 locations across the United States and Canada. This growth encompasses regions such as the New York City Metro, the Tri-State suburbs, Washington D.C., and the greater Philadelphia. In 2023 alone, maman added four new locations in Washington, D.C., and Greenwich, Connecticut, with more openings anticipated in these regions and South Florida in 2024.
Since its launch in 2014, maman has established a reputation for its distinctive blue branding, vintage-chic décor, an array of French-inspired baked goods, and a rotating all-day menu. The brand’s significant expansion reflects its growing popularity and commitment to providing quality café and bakery experiences.
