The EcoTech Visions Foundation has secured a rezoning change to make its affordable housing development possible. A new ruling has released the 15,625-square-foot property from the Infill Housing Initiative Program, which did not allow for the development of multi-family communities.
Now, the Miami Gardens-based organization can proceed with an eight-story residential building, requiring 92,400 square feet of new construction. It will offer 48 condos. According to the South Florida Business Journal, these include seven studios, 18 two-bedroom units, and 23 three-bedroom units.

Communal amenities would include a fitness center. The venture’s expected to cost at least $20 million to complete. The for-sale condos are available to those earning up to 120 percent of the area median income which, at the time of publication, was $79,400. Under these parameters, studios could start at $394,000; three-bedroom condos could start at $594,000.
FOR Architecture Co. is the architect. If the developer’s plans get all the necessary approvals, construction could start next year, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed. The EcoTech Visions Foundation acquired the build site for $100 in 2018 on the condition that it would be used for affordable housing.
