La Baia North Breaks Ground at 9481 E Bay Harbor Drive in Bay Harbor Islands

The Continuum Company has officially broken ground on La Baia North, the second of two planned boutique bayfront condominiums in Miami’s Bay Harbor Islands. This milestone follows the company’s success with La Baia South, which secured a $90 million construction loan and sold out all units. La Baia North, located at 9481 E Bay Harbor Drive, is an eight-story building with 57 units and has already reached 60% in pre-sales. The project is spearheaded by Ian Bruce Eichner, the New York-based developer known for Continuum South Beach and other notable ventures in South Florida, including his recent acquisition of the Shuckers Bar and Grill site in North Bay Village. La Baia North is set for completion in the first quarter of 2027, with Jacob’s Construction serving as the general contractor, and sales exclusively handled by Gutman Development Marketing.

Wynwood’s Whale & Star Site Eyed for Mixed-Use Redevelopment with Hotel and Condos

Plans have been submitted for potentially redeveloping the Whale & Star building in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District into a mixed-use project. The site is located at 2215-2237 Northwest 1st Place, 175 Northwest 22nd Street, and 170 Northwest 23rd Street, and spans 37,822 square feet. Currently, the property contains 27,406 square feet of commercial buildings, which would be demolished under the proposal.The city’s Wynwood Design Review Committee has approved the plans, which are now set to be reviewed by the Urban Development Review Board (UDRB).

Site Work Permit Issued for 56-Story ‘Villa Miami’ Condo Tower at 710 Northeast 29th Street in Edgewater

Miami’s Building Department has issued a site work permit for Villa Miami in Edgewater, marking a significant step forward in the development process. The permit, issued on August 2, comes with a revision filed on the same day and allows for excavation, piles, site improvement, and soil improvement. Moss & Associates is listed as the contractor on the permit, covering 22,000 square feet of work at a cost of $66,000. An application for a master construction permit is also in progress, detailing a 358,944-square-foot building with 7,723 square feet allocated for a restaurant and 351,221 square feet for residential space at an estimated cost of $62,817,300 is also in progress. A seawall permit with Ebsary Foundation Company as the contractor, valued at $480,000, is also under review.
