SPSA Retail is the working name of a new shopping center coming to Fort Lauderdale, FL. Per the Construction Journal, the $2.9 million project will rise one story above grade and require 9,232 square feet of new construction. The center will include space for eight retail stores, some of which will measure 1,625 square feet.
Records from Broward County suggest that the 1.01-acre lot was purchased back in September 2017. SPSA Retail LLC purchased the land for $880,000 in cash for $18.27 per square foot. The lot was vacant at the time of purchase. It has been classified as a “retail/shopping center/strip mall.”
Construction began on the retail center in May 2020. Ideally, it will wrap up in the fourth quarter of 2021. Golden Empire Homes is the project’s general contractor. SPSA Retail is the organization’s only active venture.
Atelier Architects International is the project’s architect. Its conceptual renderings suggest that a small to mid-sized parking lot is also underway, intended to serve both employees and store patrons. It will be landscaped with palm trees and other low-lying foliage.
SPSA Retail’s address is listed as 101 Southwest 27th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33312. Per Broward County’s official records, it will be “adjacent to a new Walmart Superstore just south of Broward Boulevard. I-95 is in close proximity, as are all main roadways.”
