At the podium levels, a series of perforated copper-toned panels are employed to effectively cover up the parking garage. The majority of the panels are offset and misaligned on purpose, which breaks up the massing of the concrete and feels much more pleasing to the eye. The ground floor is strongly contrasted with wood-like grey panels running down the walls while featuring multiple tall panes of tinted glass. The corner of Channelside Drive and Beneficial Drive features massive angled concrete columns, also clad in grey panels, serving as structural support for a section of residences just above.

Perhaps the most visually striking and impressive feature of the building is the punctuated facade seen through the mid and upper terraces. The private apartment terraces commence uniformly, stacked parallel to one another, but within just a few residential levels, the concrete walls dividing the spaces begin to shift. And then the concrete slabs shift too, revealing their varying cuts and sizes. As the slabs shift more, the dividers lean in several directions and angles, thus creating the textured undulating walls of terraces that Heron is known for.

The glass panels, framed in black aluminum, are tinted in a blue-green tone, while the concrete walls are painted in black stucco.

The Heron’s punctuated façade is most notable when viewed from the Channelside Walkway across the Garrison Channel just over the South Beneficial Drive bridge.

Supermarket chain Publix is opening up a 26,000-square-foot GreenWise Market at Heron’s commercial space later this month. The brand’s logo can be seen standing out in green along S. Beneficial Drive.

Located adjacent to the Tampa Bay History Center, Heron offers up to 565,871 square feet of usable floor area divided between residential and commercial/retail space. The residential component is offered as rentals ranging from 1-to-3 bedroom floor plans and several penthouse layouts, ranging anywhere between 557 square feet to 2,179 square feet. All units include private terraces, and grant residents access to lush amenities such as a heated rooftop pools with private poolside cabanas overlooking the water, rooftop club room for film and television screenings, barbecue grills for outdoor dining, intimate seating areas for daytime or sunset gatherings, topped off with lush tropical landscaping. Residents also have access to a state-of-the-art fitness center, electric car charging stations, private storage rooms and direct access to the Tmpa Riverwalk.

Tenants began to move in back in March 2021 as construction began to wrap up. Award-winning Cecconi Simone is listed as the interior designer, while Raymond Jungles is responsible for the landscaping. Coastal Construction was the general contractor during development. ZRS Management is listed as the property manager.
