The COVID-19 pandemic has increased demand for hotel rooms in South Florida, with close to 5,000 new rooms opening by 2026. One of the planned hotels is Collins Park Miami, a multi-building venture that will comprise 172,000 square feet.
Construction is underway for 3900 Alton Road, a 9-story multifamily development on a 1.87-acre site between Florida State Road 907, the Julia Tuttle Causeway, and the Talmudic College in Miami Beach. Designed by Arquitectonica and developed by a joint venture partnership between Mast Capital and Rockpoint Group, the development will comprise 178 residential units, ranging from studios to three-bedroom, and 269 parking spaces. Kaufman Lynn Construction is the general contractor, and AKO Plumbing Corp is the plumbing contractor.
6940 North Beach LLC, a joint venture between entities controlled by Rainer Viete, Jose Boschetti, and Eduardo Otaola, has filed an application requesting design review approval to construct a new 10-story mixed-use building at 6940 Abbott Avenue, the site of a former BellSouth office and parking lot that is no longer in use in the North Beach section of Miami Beach. Designed by Arquitectonica with Biscayne Engineering as the land surveyor and civil engineer, the 130-foot-tall structure would yield 134,573 gross square feet of space, including 96-unit multi-family units, of which 21 would be co-living units, 2,192 square feet of ground floor retail, and 90 parking spaces. The property spans roughly 24,800 square feet and is bound by Byron Avenue to the west and Abbott Avenue to the east. JMH Development has revealed new renderings for Twenty-Nine Indian Creek, a landmark, 7-story residential project located at 2901 Indian Creek Drive in Miami Beach’s sought-after Faena District. Designed by Urban Robot Associates, the project comprises only 11 residences with stunning views of Downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. Twenty-Nine Indian Creek is set to break ground in Spring 2023, and completion is expected by Q1 2025. Thornton Construction Company Inc. will serve as the general contractor.
The Miami Beach Design Review Board approved plans for a townhome project in South Florida. The four-story building will comprise seven two-bedroom homes.
